The Overcoming Mind-Hunger Program has been designed to help emotional eaters change their relationship with food. Overcoming Mind-Hunger teaches the mechanics of reconnecting true physical hunger with normal eating behavior. Once a healthy attitude about food emerges, issues realted to the desire for weight loss can be addressed.
Groups are conducted in an informal teacing/discussion/exploration format. To facilitate learning, group size is limited to a maximum of twelve participants. Individual instruction is also available and can be tailored to meet a variety of circumstances.
Discussion topics include:
- Intuitive Eating
- Learning to Manage True Physical Hunger
- Understanding Feelings
- Overcoming Resistance to Change
- Building Self-esteem
- Managing Food Cravings
- Improving Body Image
- Setting Realistic Goals for Success
Commitment to the Overcoming Mind-Hunger philosophy is a commitment to being open to look at changing one’s relationship with food and learning to manage the feelings that surface when food is no longer used to escape from uncomfortable situations or feelings. |
